Anna and Rebecca have had a brilliant day at the amazing @tippingpointeast for the @nationalretrofithub Retrofit Obviously Summit - Hearing about retrofit work from across the country, discussing the challenges for communities, local and national government and industry. A rich day full of questions but also plenty of ideas and hope. We were pleased to share the work we are doing in our neighbourhood and to catch up with friends and colleagues.

Building update: Some beautiful architectural cera

Building update: Some beautiful architectural ceramics are starting to make an appearance on site. Our downstairs quarry tiles are in the process of being laid - absolutely perfect for conducting the heat from our under floor heating system. And then most exciting is that our #portlandprofiles roof ridge tile inserts have arrived - Our neighbours profiles will forever be watching over the neighbourhood. Can you spot anyone you know? Our enormous thanks to @ketleybrick and @dreadnought.tiles for collaborating with us on getting this right. They are just the most wonderful addition to our building and we can’t wait for them to be installed. Pics show the finished profiles - made from our local Etruria Marl Clay and high fired to achieve the unmistakable Staffordshire Blue colour - also pics of our making process, visit to Ketley Brick Factory with neighbours to cut out some of the profiles and sketchbook page of initial concept - and a first glimpse at that floor! Thanks so much again to @alastair_dreadnought and team for support. We love them 💚

This week has been all about our Upholstery Projec

This week has been all about our Upholstery Project. It was a joy to welcome @katrinawilde back to the street working with @rebeccamariadavies to print the first PIP Textile pattern, designed from drawing workshops we held on the street during our summer programme and printed onto the most beautiful linen. Today we had two workshops happening at once - we hosted a screenprinting workshop on the street. Plus our Women’s upholstery group worked with Katie @meticulous_restoration and began to assemble the stools we are making from scratch with sustainable and natural materials. As soon as the textile print was delivered we began to work with it and we are so happy with how wonderful our stools are looking.
These PIP stools will be launched at @mcrcontemporary in November. We love them! #madewithmanyhands Thank you to @uniofstaffscreativeindustries @uniofstaffs for letting us print in your brilliant print rooms.
