THE CLAY END

It is through experiments on the street that we have discovered we all love clay! There is a lot to be learnt through ceramic making, but importantly we enjoy working together on a clay journey from sculpting and press moulding to completing a finished product. It is important to us to be able to see the immediate transformation that clay enables – especially when we can work together around a table and have many conversations about our neighbourhood.

It is from our growing social enterprise that we are able to design, prototype and perfect our Portland Pigeons, with the help of local residents.

The Big Portland Street Feast

The Portland Inn Project has always had a stream of work focused around the making of ceramics and the sharing of food. We have found this to be an effective way of bringing the community together to talk about the area, and make plans for progress.
